Helping People become the best versions of themselves

About Us

One Percent Program is a Darwin-based social enterprise established in 2023 that delivers culturally appropriate mental health, wellbeing, and domestic violence awareness programs.

Operating across urban and remote communities in the Northern Territory, they work closely with schools, detention centres, and community organisations to provide vital support services focused on building resilience and creating positive change for Indigenous youth and men.

With a deep desire to support Indigenous youth, co-founders Jahdai Vigona and Dante Rodrigues’ personal experiences led them to establish One Percent Program.

Our Programs

One Percent offers a dynamic range of programs designed to empower young individuals through physical fitness and personal development.

At One Percent, our mission is to empower and transform the lives of young people by providing comprehensive life skills and self-improvement training. Founded by Jahdai Vigona and Dante Rodrigues, we are dedicated to helping individuals unlock their full potential through a unique blend of physical fitness, including boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai, alongside team-building exercises.

Our programs are designed to foster personal growth, resilience, and leadership, offering a transformative experience that builds both mental and physical strength. We aim to create a supportive community where young people can develop the confidence, discipline, and skills necessary to thrive in all aspects of life.

Case Study: Mitchell's Journey to Overcoming Mental Health Struggles

Mitchell (name changed for privacy) struggled with significant mental health challenges after a difficult breakup. His mother reached out to us when he became deeply affected, experiencing feelings of hopelessness and suicidal thoughts. Mitchell had already been under the care of a mental health team and had been struggling with a fixation on his ex-girlfriend, which left him feeling stuck and unmotivated.

Initial Struggles:

Mitchell’s mother shared her concerns, noting that he was often down, had been off school for a week, and had even been hospitalized due to suicidal thoughts. His mental health team was monitoring him, but his fixation on his former girlfriend remained a source of distress. Despite ongoing support, Mitchell was unable to break free from the thoughts that dominated his mind, including wishing he could change the past and be in contact with his ex.

Our Approach:

After engaging with our program, we focused on helping Mitchell shift his mindset and develop healthier coping mechanisms. We introduced him to tools that not only addressed his emotional struggles but also reignited his passions and goals outside of the relationship.

Sam Weily, Psychologist – Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (M.I.T.S)

"I had the chance to join a One Percent Program session aimed at connecting male First Nations students with their family and the men in their lives. About 30 of us gathered at Lee Point Beach, where Dante and Jahdai set up music, food, and exercises to foster our strength through connection. Their culturally sound activities helped us connect with ourselves and each other. After 2 hours, the vibes were high, and students were buzzing about it for days. One student even commented that it was the best session he has ever had. I highly recommend the One Percent Program and look forward to working with them again!"
